i finally indulged in my gorgeous skein of qiviut. my husband has been hinting for me to make him a neckwarmer for his sno-go rides and adventures in the below zero temperatures. it couldn't be a just any neckwarmer however, it had to be qiviut. so with father's day a couple weeks away, i decided to cast on.. with this pattern. it's the diagonal rib neckwarmer. i only cast on 88 sts, and used a size 9 circular needles, and i doubled the sport weight for a thicker, quicker stich. i'm hoping this pattern will be 'manly' enough and my gauge will work out. i'll keep you posted.
