i like to make soup.

the more i cook and prepare meals for my family, the more i enjoy making soup. maybe it's because we live in a place where it's cold 9 months out of the year... or maybe it's because there are so many different kinds out there to enjoy, or maybe it's because my lovelies always seem to clean their bowls... whatever the reasons may be.. i like to make soup and i do it often. there's nothing like sitting down to a pot of hot soup and fresh warm bread on a cold blustery day. here's a new favorite of ours...

creative yarn has a bunch of fun crochet patterns for free... quick, easy projects for a bit of a crochet fix. i found this cute headband pattern on there and thought to share my good find with you.

chunky circle scarf.

i've had my eye on this chunky circle scarf for many months now... but thought the pattern to be beyond my crochet skills..... over and over again, i'd click on it and read a few lines.. but end up intimidated and look for another pattern.  however, this scarf kept popping up here and there and i couldn't keep my eyes off of it... so i decided to go for it... i told myself to go slow and figure it out stitch by stitch... turns out.. it wasn't bad, and once the pattern "clicked" with me.. it whipped up quite fast. i love it. i made mine a bit shorter so it could be snug around my neck...but still easily doubled....it's cozy..and i will make another soon!!

those summer days.

with the way this winter is panning out... i needed something to take me back to those carefree summer days....picnicking, beach combing, wandering on the tundra, enjoying the midnight sun, campfires, berrying picking. i stumbled upon these sweet treats and what better way to take your mind back to where the sun is high and the tundra is thawed than to indulge in s'mores and blueberries!!
