a dear friend of mine sent me apples... from the apple tree in her yard....all the way down states in north dakota. such a fun package to receive in the mail! it made me so very happy. i even put them in a basket..and made it looked like i picked them! since then i've been going nuts with apple baking. i made this dutch apple bread, muffins, pie, and more pie! man. how cool would it be to have an apple tree in your yard! the idea is so far fetched for me...it seems silly! but i'd love to pick apples some day..and put them in a pretty basket...and then go nuts with apple baking again!

I am so happy to send you apples. I think you should try to plant a tree? I so wish I could come visit...and your pie looks AMAZING. I knew I choose the right person to send a box to! So happy you enjoyed them! They are a blessing to us as well!
My folks had a crab apple tree in their back yard in Anchorage that provided some delicious care packages to me at school. Where are you now? Maybe you can grow one!!
